Co-operation of Enterprises

The Province of Warmia and Mazury may boast a considerable number of clusters, associating mainly the enterprises from the main industries of the region: food industry, furniture industry, yacht manufacturing or tourism.


Moreover, according to the “Investment attractiveness of regions 2013. The Province of Warmia and Mazury” report, drafted by the Regional and Local Analyses Centre, the Province of Warmia and Mazury is predestined to create interregional clusters, particularly in such sectors as: production of food, production of goods made of straw and materials used for plaiting, production of machinery and devices not classified elsewhere, manufacture of furniture, production of goods made of wood, cork, straw and materials used for plaiting, production of goods made of plastics.


The following entities operate in the Province:

The Association of Polish Regional Breweries
It operates in one of the key sectors of the Province of Warmia and Mazury – food industry. Its main goal is to improve the competitiveness of small and medium breweries through enhancing their innovativeness. The cluster, apart from the producers of beer and the listed institutions, includes also the producers of malt, glass, accessories etc.

Masurian Windows Cluster
The association of producers of the broadly defined joinery sector, i.e. windows, doors, shades and blinds, gates, etc. The aims of the cluster are: to increase the competitiveness, to develop proper human resources, to win new markets thanks to the promotion of a common brand, to develop new products, to improve the access to funding and improve the relations with the administrative environment.

Warmia and Mazury Cluster “Together Warmer”
As the agreement on the cluster establishment was signed (2007), twelve regional heat energy enterprises participated in the cluster, together with ten local government entities, the University of Warmia and Mazury and the Warmia and Mazury Regional Development Agency. The main goal of the cluster is to enhance the competitiveness of the heating enterprises, to diversify their business, and to contribute to the perception of the region as an important centre of generating and distributing heat energy.


Elbląg Furniture Cluster
The cluster consists of 24 entities operating in the wood and furniture and related industries, business environment entities and R&D institutions. The Wood Technology Centre was established in the Elbląg Science Park which was put into use in April 2011. Within the Centre, the wood and furniture enterprises belonging to the cluster will implement four new innovative technologies of furniture manufacture.


Polish Yacht Cluster
The cluster groups enterprises related to the boatbuilding industry. The cluster’s goals are among others: to promote the products abroad, to establish a common strategy, joint attempts to acquire external funding (such as UE funds) or staff education. Currently, the cluster associates over 20 entities.


Beef Cluster
The cluster gathers enterprises from food industry and business environment institutions. The main goals of the Beef Cluster include among others: supporting the expansion of companies belonging to the cluster, implementing innovative solutions, promoting export, carrying out market intelligence activities, improving production processes or education management.


Association ICT Amber Teleinformatics Cluster
The cluster is aimed at enhancing the application of modern ICT solutions through its members, as well as through the development of own software. The cluster associates local enterprises of ICT, phone, and IT sectors, as well as related sectors; it is to a large extent established by the graduates of the Applied Informatics Institute of the State School of Professional Education in Elbląg.


Elbląg Tourism Cluster
The cluster groups administrators of accommodation and general tourism facilities, tour operators, as well as other entities rendering services, operating in related sectors and co-operating institutions related with them. The Elbląg Tourism Cluster is strictly related to the region of operations.


BizArt Culture Business Cluster
The main goal of the cluster is to integrate the artistic milieu and establish co-operation between enterprises conducting economic activity for the benefit of culture, state institutions, local government authorities and science entities.
