Lidzbark Warmiński has an increasing chance of obtaining the status of a health resort. The city is taking intensive steps in this direction, and one of the key projects was the construction of brine graduation towers, which cost approximately PLN 17 million. The graduation towers, which are 6 meters high and approximately 100 meters long, are an important step in the development of Lidzbark’s health infrastructure. Work on the project started in 2020.
Health Pavilion
The newly built Health Pavilion was put into use, offering residents and tourists access to a graduation tower, a salt cave and free rehabilitation and diagnostic treatments. The facility, which is picturesquely located by the Frog Pond and managed by the Lidzbark Sports and Recreation Center, has become a real health and regeneration center. Residents can use modern equipment here, and a new natural medicine facility will soon be at their disposal, scheduled to open next year.
Getting closer to the status of a health resort
The city authorities are in the final stages of obtaining the status of a health resort. According to the words of Mayor Jacek Wiśniowski, Lidzbark Warmiński has already submitted documentation to the Ministry of Health confirming the quality of water and air.
It is worth noting that local investments are not limited only to urban projects – almost all investment areas have been sold and will be allocated to clinics and specialist centers, including a highly specialized retirement center.
The status of a health resort may bring not only health benefits for residents and tourists, but also extend the tourist season, which in turn will translate into the economic development of the region. The provincial authorities see the new health resorts as an opportunity to increase access to rehabilitation and additional funds from the National Health Fund.
Currently, there is only one health resort in Warmia and Mazury
Currently, there is only one health resort in the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship – in Gołdap. It is the only center in the region that has the official status of a health resort, offering patients and tourists a wide range of health services, including rehabilitation treatments, brine baths and other therapeutic therapies. The town of Gołdap, which is located in the north-eastern part of the voivodeship, uses its natural resources, such as mineral waters and mud, to attract visitors from all over the country. The health resort in Gołdap is a key element of health tourism in the region, and the authorities of other cities, such as Lidzbark Warmiński and Frombork, are striving to obtain a similar status.
