The construction of the first investment in the economic areas at the Olsztyn-Mazury Airport in Szymany has begun. A modern medical technology center of the Consultronix Group from Balice near Krakow – a company producing and selling specialized medical devices – will be built here on 2 ha.

Consultronix Holding was the first investor to purchase a plot of land in the investment areas located next to the Warmia-Masuria airport. The investment worth PLN 20 million will include the construction of a production hall with an area of ​​1,900 m2 and 1,100 m2 of office space. The new facility will be constructed using laminated timber technology in accordance with a modular approach enabling further expansion.

We send about a thousand people by plane every year. We travel a lot to foreign suppliers, we send cargo, we attend fairs. For us, the proximity to the airport is a very important element because it significantly shortens our travel time

– explained the company’s president, Piotr Barański.

Wiktor Wójcik, president of the management board of the airport management company, believes that this is another key step. According to him, this creates opportunities for the development of an investment zone in this area.

The new investment brings a number of socio-economic benefits – new jobs, new directions of education, and a chance for development for local suppliers of goods and services. I am glad that the airport-proximate zone is coming to life and I am sure that the trail blazed by the Consultronix Capital Group will attract further investors to Warmia and Mazury,” emphasizes Wiktor Wójcik, president of the management board of Warmia i Mazury sp. z o. o., operator of the Olsztyn-Mazury Airport – he stated.

The opening of the Medical Technology Center is planned for July next year.

This is an important step into the future of both the airport and the entire region. An impulse for the development of the airport and the local economy. The plant, which will create new jobs, will contribute to the development of the airport and the local economy. New jobs will also be created. Staff recruitment will start in the first quarter of next year.

These will be different places, starting with assembly places in the production of what we do. Through engineers and supervisors, places that will deal with certification will probably be created here. We will be looking for design engineers. – said Krzysztof Smolarski, president of the parent company. Ultimately, the company wants to employ about 100 people.

According to the mayor of Szczytno, Stefan Ochman, new jobs are the biggest advantage of this investment for the city.

I hope that many more plants will be built here. They are extremely necessary for the city to develop, he says.

According to representatives of the voivodeship government, the first investment at the airport in Szymany will attract further investors. There are almost 80 hectares to be developed.
