At the beginning of 2026, Lidzbark Warmi\u0144ski<\/strong> officially became the second health resort in the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship<\/strong>, after Go\u0142dap<\/strong>. Mayor Jacek Wi\u015bniowski<\/strong> announced that the first patients could arrive as early as February or March this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Official Health Resort Status<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

For more than a decade, the authorities of Lidzbark Warmi\u0144ski had been working to establish the town as a health resort, investing significant funds in spa infrastructure. The entire process of obtaining this status lasted over 15 years and included meeting strict environmental, infrastructure, and health-related requirements. The regulation granting the area health resort status came into force on 1 January 2026<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the Lidzbark Warmi\u0144ski Health Resort<\/strong>, therapeutic and rehabilitation treatments will be offered based on local natural resources and the available spa infrastructure. Patients suffering from cardiovascular diseases and hypertension, musculoskeletal disorders, nervous system conditions, rheumatic diseases, and diseases of the upper and lower respiratory tract will be treated here. The first visitors are expected at the turn of winter and spring.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Spa Infrastructure<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The spa hospital operating in Lidzbark Warmi\u0144ski was built by a private investor and can accommodate 220 patients<\/strong>. The city has also implemented several accompanying investments, including the construction of graduation towers<\/strong>, a health pavilion<\/strong>, and a walking promenade<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since 2015, the town has also been home to the Termy Warmi\u0144skie<\/strong>, a complex of pools using chloride-sodium waters that can be applied for balneological purposes. The facility will become an integral part of the health resort\u2019s offer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Strong Development Potential<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Obtaining health resort status strengthens the potential of health tourism<\/strong> and increases the town\u2019s investment attractiveness. This opens up new development opportunities for Lidzbark Warmi\u0144ski and may contribute to job creation, improved quality of life for residents, and further development of local infrastructure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

City authorities also expect the status to attract investors operating in the medical services, rehabilitation, hospitality, and gastronomy sectors<\/strong>. The health resort concept also aligns with the region\u2019s newest smart specialization strategy, \u201cHealthy Life.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
