On the grounds of the former sugar factory, a state-of-the-art oil pressing plant is being built by Orlen Po\u0142udnie. The total investment amounts to approximately <strong>850 million PLN<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The facility is designed to process <strong>up to 200,000 tonnes of oil annually<\/strong>, significantly contributing to the region\u2019s agri-food sector. The construction is scheduled for completion in <strong>autumn 2026<\/strong> and is expected to create around <strong>100 permanent jobs<\/strong>, while also offering additional economic opportunities to local service providers and suppliers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This comprehensive project is being implemented as a turnkey investment by the consortium of <strong>Polimex Mostostal<\/strong> and <strong>AB Industry<\/strong>, in cooperation with <strong>Desmet N.V.<\/strong>, which will deliver the core extraction technology and handle commissioning and personnel training. The scope of work also includes building supporting infrastructure such as access roads and a railway connection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The mayor of K\u0119trzyn, <strong>Karol Lizurej<\/strong>, has emphasized the strategic importance of this project for the city. Although the municipality is not a direct investor, it supports the initiative through administrative facilitation and regular consultations with the contractors.
